McMurry & Arguello is a South Florida-based architecture and design practice led by architect Dean McMurry. The practice approaches architecture as part of a broader design environment—connecting buildings with landscape, material, construction, and place. This interdisciplinary perspective reflects the shared design interests of Dean McMurry and Anielka Arguello, whose ongoing dialogue around architecture, landscape, and the built environment continues to influence the practice.

Originally from Jackson, Tennessee, Dean began his career in the steel industry as a welder and fabricator before pursuing architecture at the University of Memphis, where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture. He later received his Master of Architecture from Florida International University, earning the Master’s Project of Excellence for work subsequently featured in eVolo’s Temporal Architecture. Dean is a licensed architect in Florida and recently completed a Doctor of Design at FIU, where he also teaches as adjunct faculty in the School of Architecture. His background in fabrication, design, research, and practice continues to shape McMurry & Arguello’s hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to the built environment.
